Home Information and Amenities

The cottage is based in the beautiful village of Cartmel in the south lakes. It is a one bedroom retreat, ideal for couples. The cottage has been newly renovated in May 2024. This included a new kitchen and bathroom also new fixtures and fittings throughout. The village of Cartmel is home to 3 Michelin star restaurants. One of which holds three stars and is world renowned. The cottage is set in the grounds of Aynsome Manor Park.

Drakes Cottage is situated within the courtyard of a former 18th century coaching stables. The medieval village of Cartmel is a 15 minute walk away, via public footpath through the surrounding fields or country lanes. Famous for its 12th century Priory, 2 Michelin starred restaurants & delicious sticky toffee pudding.
The Edwardian town of Grange is a 5 minute drive with plenty of amenities and a lovely promenade walk. The southern end of Lake Windermere is a 12 minute drive.

Offering ground floor accommodation, the cottage has an open plan living area with a cosy woodburning fire to keep you snug during chilly evenings, as well as a comfy double bedroom and a lovely bathroom.
Outside is a small patio area in the shared courtyard, where you can relax and enjoy a morning coffee.
The Front room has a sofa with a pull out foot rest for your comfort. Smart Tv, Blu-Ray player, vinyl record player and a log burner.

When staying in Drakes cottage you get access to the whole property... we have a shared courtyard out front that you are free to use (the table and chairs are ours so you are welcome to use them) and also there is a shared park area that you can enjoy.
We have a car parking space labelled Apt.9 that is available for our guests to use.
If you are travelling with two cars then there is another car park located close to the South Gate entrance to the park.
